Winter is coming: Defend yourself from colds!
Colds are spread through contact with nasal secretions (sneezing or coughing) that contain viruses.
Conditions during winter, such as closer living conditions, closed windows and the lack of fresh air, increase the chances of colds spreading.
However, there are some simple steps you can take to help prevent the spread of colds:
- Maintain good hygiene: wash your hands, use tissues, disinfect countertops
- Avoid close contact with anyone who has a cold
- Take care of yourself: eat well, get regular exercise and sleep, keep stress levels low.
